Your application is incomplete and cannot be reviewed until the additional required materials are submitted. These include: 1. Scaled site plan that also shows the paving and landscape areas; Photograph of tree proposed for removal that clearly depict the reason for the requested removal; Arborist Report (including the appraised value of each tree); and, Tree replacement plan (with a scaled site plan of your property, the location of all existing and proposed structures, and the species of the proposed replacement trees). Please review the enclosed Tree Replacement Requirements handout. Please note that you are required to replace each tree you want to remove with one 36-inch box tree. It is recommended that you choose a species that will attain a similar height and crown structure as the existing trees, such as a Coast Redwood or Cedar. An ornamental or patio type of tree will not achieve this. Under the Tree Protection Regulations, the Community Development Director can only issue a tree removal permit if she determines that the trees are irreparably diseased or present a danger of falling that cannot be controlled or remedied through reasonable preservation and/or preventative procedures and OR if the trees can potentially cause substantial damage to existing or proposed main buildings or interfere with utility services and cannot be controlled or remedied through reasonable relocation or modification of the structure or utility services. Although you state in the application that the trees are very messy, dangerous and have pine bores additional information - most importantly the arborist report - is needed before the above-mentioned determination can be made. .After .your application is deemed complete, I will need to conduct a site visit to evaluate the trees. 70 North First Street · Campbell, California 95008.1423 · TEL 408.866.2140 - F^X 408.866.8381 · 'rOD 408.866.2790 After the Community Development Director has approved the permit, an approval notice will be mailed to you and to all the owners of record within three hundred foot radius of the subject property.
