Zoning Letter - 2003February 13, 2003 CITY OF CAMPBELL Community Development Department Debbie Follmar 2002 White Oaks Rd Campbell, CA 95008 Re: 2002 White Oaks Rd Assessor Parcel Number 414-44-007 Dear Ms. Follmar: CAMPBELL Thank you for your request for zoning information for property located at 2002 White Oaks Road in the City of Campbell. This property is zoned General Commercial (C-2) which allows a variety of commercial uses. However, any massage establishment or commercial school teaching massage requires a Conditional Use Permit. The City of Campbell limits the number of massage establishment permits to three and these permits are already been issued. There is currently no Conditional Use Permit for a massage establishment or commemial school at this site. Our records indicate that a business license was approved for Western College of Therapeutic Massage in October 1994 on the basis that the massage school would occupy a very small portion of the building and be an incidental use to the medical office. However, this school obtained approval of a Use Permit to operate at a different location in March 1995. There are currently no approved business licenses for any massage-related use at this location. Under Section 5.48.035 (Professionals Employing Massagists) of the Campbell Municipal Code Any state-licensed professional who is a chiropractor, physical therapist, barber, cosmetologist, or acupuncturist may employ a massagist for the purpose of providing regular body massage at their place of business as an incidental use, during normal business hours. However, barbers and cosmetologists shall not employee more than one massagist pursuant to this section and in no case shall the gross receipts for massage services exceed the gross receipts for the services rendered by the state-licensed professional, excluding retail product sales.
