BEING A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL MAP OF
TRACT NO. 8103, ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION
OFFERED THEREON, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT FOR STREET IMPROVE-
MENTS
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the City of
Campbell a final map of Tract No. 8103, at 1814-1868 White Oaks Road, for
approval;
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has certified that the map conforms to Sub-
division Map Act and City ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that said map be, and the same is hereby, approved, and that any real
property offered for dedication for public use is accepted on behalf of
the public in conformity with the terms of the offer of dedication.

We have no objection to the Public Utility Easements (P.U.E./P.S.E.)
as shown on the subject tract/parcel map.
However, P.U.E.'s do not constitute an easement acceptable to Pacific
Bell. It may therefore be advantageous for the property owner to
grant our Company an easement for a portion of the telephone
facilities to be placed on the property served. Any arrangements for
such an easement will be made directly with the property owner.
The above mentioned Project is located within the Pacific Bell service
area and telephone service will be provided in accordance with our

PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
1. That the City Council accept the Negative Declaration which has been
prepared for "this project; and
2. That the City Council adopt the attached findings and approve this map
subject to the attached conditions.
DISCUSSION
The applicant is requesting approval of a Tentative Subdivision Map to allow
the creation of 11 single family lots on a public cul-de-sac having access to
Whiteoaks Rd.
The project site is currently occupied by 5 single family homes, a car shed,
and a dog kennel; All of the existing buildings would be removed with the
exception of a single family residence and accessory structures on the
southeastern portion of the site.
The project comprises approximately 2.4 gross acres. The proposed subdivision
would be developed at a density of 4.5 units per gross acre, which is
consistent with the Low Density Residential (less than 6 units per gross acre)
shown on the Land Use Element of the General Plan.
The proposed lots range in size from 6,000 sq.ft. to 15,000 sq. ft. Ten of the
proposed lots would have access to the new cul-de-sac, with one of the lots
fronting Whiteoaks Rd.
Tbe Planning Commission is of the opinion that the lot design and arrangement
is acceptable and is recommending approval of the proposed subdivision map,
sUbject to the attached conditions. At its meeting of November 24, 1987, the
Commission unanimously recommended approval of TS 87-04 (vote: 7-0). A copy of
the minutes from that meeting are attached.

RESULTS OF RESISTANCE "R"-VALUE TESTS
Gentlemen:
Per your request, we have performed laboratory tests to evaluate the Resistance
"R:-Val ue for the near-surface material on the site for the Proposed White Oaks
Subdivision located on White Oaks in Campbell, California.
The results of the tests indicate a Resistance "R"-Value for the material of 32.
The sample was obtaine about 2 feet below the existing ground surface. The pavement
section should be designed on the basis of this value and the anticipated traffic
on the Street in the subdivision.

Mr. Alan Pinn has submitted a preliminary tentative map for a proposed
cul-de-sac along Whiteoaks Rd. The proposed map would accommodate
7 single family homes on a half street and would involve Parcels 6 & 7
on the attached map.
The subject properties are currently in the County of Santa Clara's
jurisdiction, but in Campbell's Sphere of Influence. They have been
pre-zoned R-1-6 (Single Pcunily Residential - 6,000 sq.ft. minimum lot
size) .
Your review and comments regarding this proposal would be appreciated.
