Utility Waiver - 2003Of?c H A~.g CITY oF CAMPBELL Community Development Department CAMPBELL March 20, 2003 Harry Rosingana 51 Alice Avenue Campbell, CA 95008 Re-' Underground Utility Waiver 51 Alice Avenue Dear Mr. Rosingana: Please be advised thru the Community Development Director, with the concurrence of the Land Development Manager, on behalf of the City Engineer, has reviewed your request to permit overhead services in conjunction with the utility upgrade and proposed addition to your existing residence on the above-referenced property in lieu of the requirement to underground the utilities. Pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code section 20.36.150, this request has been granted as a waiver of the requirement to underground utilities due to the limited likelihood that other utility lines will be placed underground in your neighborhood and the excessive cost of having to underground the utility lines. If you should have any questions regarding this determination, please do not hesitate to contact me at 866-2193. The existing overhead power to the building is from the rear alley of the property. From the proposed new location of the service to the alley is 63 t~, from the property line to the nearest power pole is 40 fi, The total footage that would needed ~to be trenched would be 103 fi. The trenching on the alley would be over water and sewer lines. The cost of underground connection would be astronomical. None of the houses on either side of Alice Ave have underground power.
