Re: Emergency removal of oak at 1570 Archer Court
Dear Mr. Burke,
The Community Development Director of the City of Campbell has determined the oak tree
located on the property at 1570 Archer Court in a R-l-6 (Single Family Residential) Zoning
District constitutes an emergency removal under Section 21.56.060 of the Campbell
Municipal Code. This .ruling is based on your description of the tree and a site visit that
verified a limb had broken off the tree and the tree posed an immediate threat to persons or
property. The oak is exempt from the City's Tree Protection Regulations and may be
removed without approval of a Tree Removal Permit.
While you are not required to replace this tree, it is recommended that another tree be planted
on your property. As per our phone conversation on Friday, July 25, 2003, the Community
Development Department is supportive of the two 24-inch box Pistacia (Chinese Pitache)
replacement trees you have selected. This would provide screening for you and your
neighbors, provide shade during the heat of summer, and add to your home's value.
