Dear Mr. Rodhouse:
Thank you for your Pre-Application submittal for the improvements to your residence located at 35
Alice A venue in Campbell. The project involves the demolition of the existing garage, construction
of a new detached garage and addition to the main house of 809 square feet. As you are aware this
property is located within the Alice A venue Historic District. The following is a brief chronology
of the application:
· May 9,2003 - Pre-application submitted
June 19,2003 - Special Meeting of Historic Preservation Board (HPB)
· September 2, 2003 - Revised plans submitted responding to issues raised by HPB
· September 19, 2003 - Plans received 9/2/03 approved (house and garage)
administratively by the Community Development Director.
The revised plans depict the changes requested by the HPB, including the following; Flat roof
design over the garage with decorative parapet and tiles, covered porches along the eastern side of
the family room, revised window designs and consistent detailing. Thank you for making the
requested changes. Per our discussion, the plans have been approved by the Planning Division
subject to the following conditions:
1. Provide a eight (8) foot setback from the rear property line to the detached garage.
2. Coordinate with the Planning Division during construction over any stucco removal to
insure integrity of the original exterior appearance.
