Dear Mr. Jewett:
The Planning Division has conditionally approved your revised sign application (PLN2006-
00054) for new signage on property located at 499 Salmar Avenue. Please be advised that this
approval shall supersede the previous approval letter dated June 28, 2006.
This Sign Permit has been approved subject to the following conditions of approval:
1. Approval of one new wall sign on the front elevation (east facing), which is 2'-6" x 20'-0"
and consists of a non-illuminated panel sign reading "Window & Door Alternatives BCD
Jewett Inc." centered on the wall. (see drawing" A")
2. Applicant shall remove the wall sign on the left side of the front elevation (east facing) as
it exceeds the number of signs permitted under the Sign Ordinance. (see drawing" A").
3. All window signs shall not exceed 25 percent of the window area per fa~ade.
4. Applicant shall reduce the window signage in the right side window of the front elevation
to not exceed 25 percent of the window area. (see drawing "C")
5. Applicant shall remove the canopy/roof mounted sign on the side elevation (south facing)
as it is a prohibited sign under the Sign Ordinance. (see drawing "B")
6. Approval of one new wall sign on the side elevation (south facing), which is 3'-0" x 8'-0"
and consists of a non-illuminated panel sign reading "Window & Door Showroom"
centered above Lease #1 roll-up door. (see drawing "B")

7. Applicant shall reduce the two (2) wall signs on the side elevation (south facing) above
Lease #2 and Lease #3 to be six square feet or less. Informational or directional signs,
which are on-site signs directing and guiding traffic and parking on private parking, but
bearing no advertising matter and having a display area of less than six square feet are
exempt from the regulations in the Sign Chapter. (see drawing "B").
8. Applicant shall remove the temporary banner sign that is currently attached to cyclone
fence along the northern property line. The banner shall be removed by Friday, August 4,
2006.
9. Promotional devices, including temporary items other than signs, used to attract attention
toward the business (e.g., streamers, flags, searchlights, balloon, etc.) are prohibited on the
subject property.
10. Portable signs that are not permanently attached to the ground or a permanent structure
(e.g., A-frame signs and sandwich-board signs) are prohibited on the subject property.
11. The applicant shall obtain any necessary building permits from the Building Division
prior to sign installation.
12. The proposed wall signs shall be fabricated and installed per the revised plans dated as
approved on June 28, 2006, except as modified by the conditions of approval.
13. The signs shall be maintained in good condition at all times and shall be repaired or
replaced as necessary.
14. All signs shall be in compliance with the Conditions of Approval for the sign permit stated
above by Friday, August 25, 2006.
