received. If no appeals are filed, staff will send you a letter to let you know that the Tree Removal Permit
is final. A notice of tree removal will be posted on the property where it is visible to the public and a

Species: Honey Locust (Gleditsia triacanthos L.)
Height: Approx. 40'-50'
DBH: Approx. 48"
Visual assessment:
Inspection of this tree was conducted from the ground up. The soil around the tree is very
hard and compacted. This will minimize the mount of water and oxygen in the soil for
uptake by the trees root system. Lack of storage in the root system and lack of minerals
and water to uptake has lead to the weakening of this tree.
The root crown appears to be in good shape with no visible signs of crown rot or any
kinds of fungus growth.
The tree separate into three standard at about 3' above ground level. At the origin of the
separation is excessive splitting and cracking of the limbs and crotches. There is also a
dead spur sticking out of the middle of the bunch that is heavily infested with termites.
Although that is the only visibly effected area, termite infection is more than like present
thoughout the entire tree. A rod was been driven through the tree trunk connecting tow
of the stags together. Cracking and splitting of the stags is very extensive and very
hazardous.
The canopy has extensive signs of limb dye-back, decay and weak attachments. The are
signs of limb failures throughout out the canopy. This tree has not been properly
maintained and/or improperly pruned for a long period of time. This tree should been
deemed extremely hazardous and recommended for immediate removal.
