OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT The project proposes the construction of a two-story, three-level parking structure in Downtown Campbell. The parking structure would contain up to 300 parking spaces. The purpose of the parking structure is to help eliminate an existing parking shortage as a result of existing and approved but not yet built uses in Downtown Campbell. No additional parking space generator uses are proposed as part of the project. The proposed project would result in the demolition of seven residential dwelling units, three garage structures, and one garage structure which has been converted to office use. B. LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT The proposed project is located between Second and Third Streets along Civic Center Drive in the City of Campbell, as shown on Figures I and 2. C. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project proposes the construction of a two-story, three-level parking structure in Downtown Campbell on an approximately 0.85 acre project site. The parking structure would contain up to 300 parking spaces on three levels (ground, second, and roof levels). The parking structure would be located along Civic Center Drive between Second and Third Streets. Access to the proposed structure would be provided by driveways on Second and Third Streets. No automobile access would be provided on Civic Center Drive, as shown on Figure 3 and 4. The purpose of the parking structure is to help eliminate an existing parking shortage as a result of existing and approved but not yet built uses in Downtown Campbell. No additional parking space demand uses are proposed as part of this project. Any additional development in the Downtown Campbell area would be required to conduct additional environmental review. The project proposes to acquire approximately 0.85 acres which includes all or a portion of seven. individual parcels. The project will require the acquisition of three complete parcels; two of which front on Second Street and one that fronts on Third Street. In addition, the project would require the partial acquisition of four parcels which front along Campbell Avenue. The existing uses located on these parcels would remain and are not proposed for redevelopment at this time. Should the Redevelopment Agency acquire these parcels in the future for additional redevelopment activities, additional environmental review would be conducted for the acquisition and redevelopment of these properties. The acquisition of the approximately 0.85 acre project site and construction of the three-level parking structure would result in the demolition of seven residential dwelling units, three garage structures, and one garage structure which has been converted to office use. As required under Redevelopment Law, the Redevelopment Agency will provide relocation benefits to eligible tenants who are displaced as a result of the proposed project.
