Pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code Section 21.18.140 (Undergrounding of Utilities), this request has been granted for the following reasons: 1. The existing utility pole is across the street from the property; 2. The significant time delay of installing utilities underground relative to the project schedule; and 3. The significant cost of installing utilities underground relative to the project cost. 4. Due to the established character of the neighborhood, it is not likely that other utility services will be underground in this neighborhood. Currently the power line crosses the driveway (see photo B); this wall is to be removed. We would like to locate the new electrical. service on the left side of the house along with the gas, phone and cable (see photo C). I have looked at the other homes on my street 819 is the only home with under ground utilities; the power pole is located right next to this residence. They also have no driveway or landscaping. My brother and I are renovating this home so our elderly parents can live next door to me. Moving our utilities underground would both be very invasive causing us to trench across the yard and street; it also would make what is already a tight budget very difficult.
