Dear Mr. Cook:
The Planning Division has reviewed your sign application for a revision to the approved signage at the
remodeled Safeway store at the above referenced address. The new signage consists of the replacement
of all the wall mounted signs on the front fapade of the building (eastern elevation), the replacement of
the wall sign on the side wall (northern elevation), and the re-face of the existing monument sign along
South Winchester Boulevard.
The Sign Permit has been approved subject to the following conditions of approval:
1. The applicant shall obtain any necessary building permits from the Building Division prior to sign
installation.
2. The proposed signs shall be fabricated and installed per the approved plans dated December, 16
2005.
3. The stucco wall behind the signs shall be repaired and repainted to match the existing stucco wall.
4. The signs shall be maintained in good condition at all times and shall be repaired or replaced as
necessary.

The Planning Division has reviewed your sign application for a revision to the approved signage at the
remodeled Safeway store at the above referenced address. Your application has been deemed incomplete.
The following additional information and details are needed in order to deem your application complete:
1. Site Plan: The site plan should be revised to reflect the following corrections:
a. The street name of South Winchester Boulevard is spelled "Windcheater." Please indicate
the correct spelling of the street.
b. The notes regarding the location of the existing signage is incorrect. China Express is in
location `F' not `E', Deli/bakery is in location `E' not `D', and Pharmacy is location `D' not
`F' .
2. New Signag_e: Staff recommends the following for the signs over the two store entrances:
a. The proposed sign `B' over the southern entrance of the store should be repeated over the
northern entrance to allow people to better identify this as an entrance and provide a balanced
appearance for the signage.
