Tree Removal Permit - 2008April 21, 2008 Kevin Klass 1109 Steinway Ave Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Tree Removal Permit File No: PLN2008-60 ~ 1109 Steinway Ave Dear Mr. Klass: The Community Development Director has conditionally approved your Tree Removal Permit application (PLN2008-60) to remove one 30 inch Deodar Cedar tree as shown on the site plan submitted on April 2, 2008, on property located at 1109 Steinway Avenue. Your request has been approved subject to the following conditions: 1. The applicant shall plant one 36 inch box tree (Coast Redwood) on the subject property on or before May 21, 2008, consistent with the replanting plan. The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with a supporting recommendation by a Certified Arborist, that the tree has become a hardship, and could cause more potential property damage thus impacting the economic enjoyment of your property. It has been determined that this situation cannot be controlled or remedied through tree trimming or pruning, as this would increase the failure potential of the trees. This approval is final in 10 calendar days, unless an appeal is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, 70 N. First Street, Campbell, on or before Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. A written appeal must be accompanied with a $100 appeal filing fee. The tree is located immediately next to the residential structure located at 1109 Steinway Avenue in the R-1-10 (Single Family Residential) Zoning District (see map on reverse). The property owner proposes to install one replacement tree on the property. The 10 day comment period for this application shall begin on April 8, 2008 and end on April 18, 2008. Any comments regarding this application shall be submitted in writing to the Planning Division before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008 as a decision will be rendered after this date. Decisions by the Community Development Director are final in 10 calendar days following the date of approval, unless an appeal is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, 70 N. First Street, Campbell, prior to the end of the appeal period. A written appeal must be accompanied with the required $100 appeal filing fee.
