This letter is to inform you that the Santa Clara Valley Water District (District) is beginning the
annual review process of its Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and requesting input from your
agency to ensure that it is consistent with your General Plans to better serve our community.
The District's FY 2009/10 CIP includes a total of 100 projects. Expenditures over the next five
years are projected to be $793 million, which includes nearly $187 million for fiscal year 2010.
The District conducts an annual CIP review process including a public hearing to obtain
comments from Cities, the County, its advisory committees, and other stakeholders before
adopting the CIP. This will help our agency to provide better services to the community.
This letter transmits the District's DRAFT FY 2009-10 CIP for your review. Over the next couple
of weeks, District staff will contact your Public Works and Planning departments to arrange a
meeting between Mr. Dave Chesterman, Deputy Operating Officer of the District's Capital
Program Services Division, and your staff to receive their comments on the CIP. Those
comments will then be summarized and shared with the District's Board at the public hearing
tentatively scheduled for late August.
We appreciate your staff's participation in the past, and look forward to working with them again.
Please feel free to contact Dave Chesterman at extension 2328, with any questions or
concerns.
Sincerely,
Beau Goldie
Chief Executive Officer
