Re: Tree Removal Permit
File No: PLN2008-159 ~ 2190 S. Bascom Ave.
Dear Mr. Merino,
The Community Development Director has conditionally approved your Tree Removal Permit
application (PLN2008-159) to remove nine (9) Queen Palm trees on property located at the above
referenced address.
Your request has been approved subject to the following conditions:
1. The applicant shall plant two (2) 24-inch box trees in the approximate location of the removal of
two Queen Palm trees previously removed pursuant to an Emergency Removal Permit granted by
the Community Development Department on September 25, 2008.
~. The applicant shall plant a 24-inch box tree in the approximate location of the removal of any tree
12-inches in diameter or larger removed under this permit.
3. The applicant shall plant a 15-gallon tree in the approximate location of the removal of any tree
less than 12-inches in diameter removed under this permit.
The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with a supporting
recommendation by a Certified Arborist that the trees are at risk of failure due to an improper planting
location. It has been determined that this situation cannot be controlled or remedied through tree trimming
or pruning, as this would increase the failure potential of the tree.
This approval is final in 10 calendar days of the Community Development Director's decision, unless an
appeal is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, on or before Friday, November
14, 2008. If an appeal is received, you will be immediately notified of its receipt. Otherwise, you may
remove the subject trees at the close of the 10 day appeal period.
