Unit 93 -Italian Stone Pine (Pinus pinea) This Italian Stone Pine is located on a slope on the west side of the mobile home. The tree is 30 inches in diameter and approximately 50 feet tall. A primary scaffold failed earlier in 2009. The remaining canopy was trimmed to reduce the chance of further failure during the tree removal permit application process. The remaining trunk is leaning towards the mobile home which is a frequently used "target". The canopy is asymmetric. Since the lean of the tree cannot be corrected, and the home cannot be moved, we recommend removing the tree. The appraised value of this tree is $0, since the tree's condition necessitates removal (see trunk Formula Method Work Sheet).
