Tree Removal Permit - 2009January 4, 2010 Mark & Deborah Preston 1889 Dry Creek Road Campbell, CA 95008 Re: File No: PLN2009-161 Address: (l 157) Arnott Way. Application: Tree Removal Permit Dear Applicant: The Community Development Director has conditionally approved your Tree Removal Permit application (PLN2009-161) for the removal of one (1) 44-inch diameter Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) tree located on property utilized as private recreational space for the residence located at 1889 Dry Creek Road. The request for removal of the Mayten tree also located on the subject property is exempt from the city's tree removal regulations and may be removed at your convenience. Your request has been approved subject to the following Condition of Approval: The applicant shall plant one (1) 36-inch box tree (species to be determined) on either the Arnott Way property or the 1889 Dry Creek Road property to comply with the city's replant requirement. The replacement tree shall be planted within 30 days of the effective date of this approval, unless accepted horticultural practices dictate a preferential planting period for the species chosen as a replacement tree. The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with a supporting recommendation by a Certified Arborist, that due to overcrowding, the tree has been weakened by disease and is subject to failing which risks damage to adjacent property. This approval is final in l 0 calendar days of the Community Development Director's decision, unless an appeal is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, on or before January 14, 2009. If an appeal is received, you will be immediately notified of its receipt. Otherwise, you may remove the subject tree at the close of the appeal period. If you have any questions regarding this approval, please contact me at (408) 866-2142 or via email at stevep@cityofcampbell.com.
