Bascom Avenue #200 Dear Mr. Merrell, The Campbell Planning Division has reviewed your application for a sign permit to install two new wall signs to replace three existing wall signs to be removed, reface of an existing monument sign, and replacement of multiple ancillary directional, safety and parking Signage located at 1875 S. Bascom Avenue, #200. The project location for the proposed sign application is located with the Pruneyard Shopping Center and is subject to the current Master Sign Program, as modified on October 25, 2005. Currently, the existing legally permitted existing Signage for the above location is exempt from the Master Sign Program until such time as a new tenant occupies the site or a change to an existing sign. As you are proposing to replace and/or relocate the existing Signage, including an increase in sign area, compliance with the current Master Sign Program is required. Your Sign Permit submittal has been deemed incomplete due to the lack of conformance with the current Sign Prob~ram, as your proposed sign design and colors are inconsistent with the plan. I have included a copy of the 2005 Master Sign Program for your review. As an alternative, the City would not consider a proposal to reface the two legal wall signs (the signs on the north and west elevation) and the existing monument sign as a change in signage that would trigger conformance with the Master Sign Program, as long as the third unperniitted wall sign on the southern elevation was removed and the exterior patched and painted to match. Additionally, the ancillary directional, safety, and parking Signage would also be exempt from the Master Sign Program requirements, if installed per the submitted plans. Please contact me at (408) 866-2142 if you wish to discuss this denial, possible modification of the Master Sign Protnam, or the appeal process in more detail.
