Application: Tree Removal Permit
Dear Ms. Horwitz,
The Community Development Director has reviewed your Tree Removal Permit application (PLN2010-147)
for the removal of two (2) Liquid Amber trees located at the above referenced address and has approved the
removal of one (1) tree (Liquid Amber Tree `B'- measuring 50 inches in circumference). The Director has
determined that the other tree (Tree `C'- measuring 37 inches in circumference) does not satisfy the criteria
for removal as it is not causing damage to any adjacent structures.
Your request to remove tree `B' has been approved subject to the following Condition of Approval.:
The applicant shall plant one (1) replacement 24-inch box Crape Myrtle tree as shown on the
submitted replanting plan. The replacement trees shall be planted within 30 days of the effective
date of this approval, unless accepted horticultural practices dictate a preferential planting period for
the species chosen as replacement trees.
The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with a supporting
recommendation by a Certified Arborist that Tree `B' is causing damage to the foundation of an adjacent main
building. It has further been determined that this issue cannot adequately be solved through reasonable means
due to the risk of compromising the stability of Tree `B'.
This approval is final in 10 calendar days of the Community Development Director's decision, unless an appeal
is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, on or before July 23, 2010. If an appeal is
received, you will be immediately notified of its. receipt. Otherwise, you may remove the subject tree at the close
of the 10 day appeal period.
If you have any questions regarding this approval, please contact me at (408) 866-2193 or via email at
