Sign - Denial - 2009December 4, 2009 Mr. Phil Barros 350 E. Mission Street, #219 San Jose, CA 95112 RE: "ABX Graphix" Sign Application for a New Internally Illuminated Wall Sign PLN 2009-152 1865 Winchester Boulevard, Suite #200 Dear Mr. Barron, The Campbell Planning Division has reviewed your application for a sign permit for a r~ew internally illuminated wall sign attached to the front of the "ABX Graphix" tenant space located at 1865 Winchester Boulevard The proposed "ABX Graphix" sign measures 19.14 sq. ft. (including aluminum backing/raceway) and consists of internally illuminated aluminum channel letters. There is also an existing wall sign associated with the first floor flowers and frame shop that consists of non-illuminated individual channel letters pegged directly to the building fascia. As the proposal submitted is to install a new wall sign where an existing wall sign is located, staff reviewed this application for compliance with CMC Section 21.30.80, Permanent Signage. Pursuant to CMC Section 21.30.080(A)(3): Individual signs for occupants in the same building or commercial center shall be of the same design. Although the proposed Signage is well designed, it is not consistent with the existing sign found on the multiple tenant commercial building. Therefore, staff is unable to approve the submitted Signage. Please revise the signage to match the existing wall signage and resubmit for approval by no later than Friday, December 18, 2009. Failure to resubmit by December 18. 2009, will result in the Community Development Director denying the sign application. This will require you to submit a new sign application, including fees, for any future wall signage. PLN2009-152 Sign Permit Application 1865 Winchester Blvd. #200 Page 2 of 2 If the sign application is officially denied by the Community Development Director, this official decision is appealable to the Planning Commission. An appeal shall be made in writing to the City Clerk describing the reasons for the appeal and shall be accompanied by the $105 appeal fee within ten (10) calendar days following the date of the decision to deny.
