This letter is a reminder that according to your Outdoor Seating Permit, the seating area for Cafe
Campbell must maintain afive-foot clearance along the public sidewalk. No obstructions, including
the wood barriers, heaters, planters, or decorative items, may be placed within the five-foot walkway.
Please ensure that your staff, at all times, ensures that this five-foot clearance is maintained.

Dear Mr. Spanu,
The Planning Division has conditionally approved your request to modify the previously approved
Outdoor Seating Permit application (PLN2008-140) for Cafe Campbell. Your request has been
approved subject to the following Conditions of Approval:
1. Approved Project: The outdoor seating shall substantially conform to the two outdoor seating
configuration plans dated as received on October 19, 2010 (approved plans enclosed). The
existing outdoor seating and wood barriers (with tiled top surface and decorative painted bamboo
sides) are included in this approval. Any change to the chairs, tables, or barriers requires
Planning Division review and approval.
2. Walkway Clearance: Afive-foot wide pedestrian walkway shall be maintained at all times along
the public sidewalk. No obstructions, including heaters, planters, or decorative items, shall be
placed within the five-foot walkway.
3. Litter: All litter shall be picked up immediately and the tables cleaned promptly. Cafe Campbell
is responsible for the cleanup of all litter associated with the business. Litter removal may extend
beyond the boundaries of the business frontage.
4. Cleanin>;: All spills shall be cleaned immediately and the sidewalk shall be pressure washed as
necessary or as required by the Community Development Director or Public Works Director.
5. Maintenance: All outdoor furniture, including the trash receptacle, shall be kept clean and in
good repair and replaced and/or fixed as necessary.
6. Stora e: All tables, seats, and barriers shall be placed inside at the end of each business day.

7. Umbrella Canopies: The canopies of the umbrellas associated with any outdoor tables shall
maintain a minimum vertical clearance of seven feet. No signage of any kind is allowed on the
canopies of these umbrellas.
8. Insurance: The required insurance policy shall be maintained in good standing at all times that
this permit is exercised.
