NEW BUSINESS
1. Heritage Tree Draft Potential List: Review and update potential list of public trees for
distribution to the Parks and Recreation Committee (Attachment).
2. HPB 2009 Proposed Schedule: The following Wednesdays at 4 pm (all fourth
Wednesdays, except November and December):
January 24
February 25
March 25
April 22
May 27
June 24
July 22
August 26
September 23
October 28
November 18 (3~d Wednesday)
December 16 (3`d Wednesday)
3. Joint Historic Preservation Board/ Parks and Recreation Commission Studv Session:
Select a meeting date and time to hold a Historic Preservation Board and Parks and
Recreation Commission joint study session to discuss:
• The Heritage Tree Designation Ordinance and the Parks and Recreation
ordinance;
• The respective roles of each Commission or Board in regards to the designation
process; and,
• The potential opportunities for a joint interest project (i.e. Arbor Day celebration)
(Attachment).
4. Appointment of HPB representative to the Site and Architectural Review Committee
SARC : Appoint a Historic Preservation Board member to cone-year term to assist
SARC during review of any applications involving historic resources (Attachment).
OLD BUSINESS
Campbell Water Tower: Update from Senior Museum Specialist Karen Lange
regarding Campbell Water Tower grant.
ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS
1. CLG Status Training Requirement: One training session is required per Federal
Fiscal Year (current fiscal year runs between October 1, 2008 through September
30, 2009) for each Board member and the staff liaison in order to maintain the City
of Campbell's CLG status (Attachment).
2. Heritage Trees: At its January 8th meeting, the Parks and Recreation Committee
recommended the White Ash at the Community Center for Heritage Tree
Designation (Attachment).
3. 1888 White Oaks: On January 5, 2009, the Earl and Virginia Young House was
placed on the National Register of Historic Places (Attachment).
