Congratulations! You have done it again. The Historic Preservation Board has received a Governor's
Historic Preservation Award for 2003 for its Walking Tour Brochures I and II. Please see the attached
letter of notification from the State of California's Office of Historic Preservation.
Staff is very proud of the efforts of the HPB and extends its best regards to all involved in working on
the brochures that achieved this honor. We will keep you posted on the dates for presentation of this
award by the Governor's Office.

Award Ceremony is scheduled for November 12, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., in the
Jess Unhru Room, Room 4202, State Capitol, Sacramento. The ceremony
will be followed by a light buffet.

Downtown Walking Tours (1 and 2) has been selected to receive a Governor's
Historic Preservation Award for 2003. This prestigious award is the only official
preservation award presented by the State of California to worthy recipients in
recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of historic preservation.
We will be making a brief announcement of the winners at the August 8, 2003 meeting
of the State Historical Resources Commission in Vallejo; directions to the meeting may
be found at our web site, www.ohp.parks.ca.gov.
Recipient of the 2003 awards will be invited to a presentation ceremony to be held
subject to scheduling with the Governor's Office. You will be notified by mail of the exact
