HPB Resolution No. 15RESOLUTION N0. 15
HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the
City-initiated application to designate Alice Avenue as an Historic
District, and after presentation by the Planning Staff, and after
testimony by proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed
HPB 86-O1.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Historic
Preservation Board did find as follows:
1. The designation of Alice Avenue as an Historic
District is consistent with the purposes set forth
in Section 21.41.020 of the Campbell Municipal Code.
2. The Alice Avenue Neighborhood represents an
established and familiar residential street.
3. The Alice Avenue Neighborhood possesses a
significant concentration of historically and
architecturally significant sites which provide
a defineable neighborhood streetscape.
4. The designation of this Neighborhood as an Historic
District will encourage recognition and protection
of this street as an established residential
neighborhood.
Based on the above findings, the Historic Preservation Board does
hereby recommend that the Planning Commission and City Council take
action to designate the Alice Avenue Neighborhood - all properties
having frontage on Alice Avenue: 20 through 235 Alice Avenue, 235
S. First St., 189 & 190 S. Third St., 2200 S. Winchester Blvd. -
as an Historic District in the City of Campbell.
