Tree Removal Permit - 2010CITY of CAMPBELL Community Development Department October 29, 2010 Phyllis Johnson 845 Lana Court Campbell, CA 95008 Re: File No: PLN2010-239 Address: 845 Lana Court Application: Tree Removal Permit Dear Ms. Johnson, On October 29, 2010, the Community Development Director conditionally approved your Tree Removal Permit application (PLN2010-239) for the removal of one (1) Modesto Ash tree located at the above referenced address. Your request has been approved subject to the following Condition of Approval: The applicant shall plant one 36-inch Autumn Maple box tree on or adjacent to the removal location. The replacement tree shall be planted within 30 days of the effective date of this approval, unless accepted horticultural practices dictate a preferential planting period for the species chosen as a replacement tree. The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with suppo--ting visual evidence that the tree is severely weakened through disease, significant enough to cause a main limb failure, with very little to no chance for recovery even with treatment. This approval is final in l0 calendar days of the Community Development Director's decision, unless an appeal is received in writing at the City of Campbell City Clerk's Office, on or before Tuesday, November 9, 2010. If an appeal is received, you will be immediately notified of its receipt. Otherwise, you may remove the subject tree once the 10 day appeal period has concluded. If you have any questions regarding this approval, please contact me at (408) 866-2142 or via email at stevep@cityofcampbell.com. I am aware that the tree recently dropped a large branch into their back yard which could have severely injured or killed anyone who was under that tree when the branch broke off. I also like the idea of replacing the tree with an Autumn Maple, which will add beautiful colors to our neighborhood during the Autumn months! Frank R.
