A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA
IN APPRECIATION TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
FOR SUPPORT OF THE AINSLEY HOUSE RELOCATION AND RENOVATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the historic Ainsley House was constructed in 1925 for J. C.
Ainsley, pioneer industrialist, and
WHEREAS, the house was donated to the City of Campbell by Mr. Ainsley's
granddaughters for use as the Campbell Historical Museum; and
WHEREAS, the house is to be used for a living museum with formal
exhibits, including exhibits of agricultural heritage of the Santa Clara
Valley; and
WHEREAS, the historic landscaping will be recreated as much as possible
to create an attractive open space, historic park setting, and
WHEREAS, a combination of City Capital Improvement Reserves,
Redevelopment Agency funds, State Grants and private fund raising efforts are
being used to fund the approximate $2 million cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1990 the Santa Clara County Historical Heritage
Commission recommended the use of County Park Charter Funds for the project;
and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 1990 the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors
approved the Historical Heritage Commission recommendation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to the Santa Clara County
Board of Supervisors for their generous support of the Ainsley House Relocation
and Renovation Project.
