RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA AND THE CITIES OF CAMPBELL, CUPERTINO,
MILPITAS, MOUNTAIN VIEW, PALO ALTO, SAN JOSE, SANTA CLARA, AND
SUNNYVALE RELATING TO POTENTIAL STADIUM FACILITIES ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the Giants baseball organization is planning to submit a
proposal to the City of Santa Clara for locating a baseball stadium in
Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara has prepared a proposed Joint
Powers Agreement to fund $400,000 for consulting assistance to analyze a
proposal for the creation of a stadium in the South Bay;
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell wishes to enter into such an agreement
with the County of Santa Clara and the cities of Cupertino, Milpitas,
Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell approve the Joint Powers Agreement with the County of Santa Clara
and the cities of Cupertino, Milpitas, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose,
Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell's prorated share of $2,493
for professional assistance be allocated for this purpose.
