CC Resolution 11412RESOLUTION NO. 11412 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING FRANCINE PRINCIPE FOR ELEVEN AND A HALF YEARS OF SERVICE WHEREAS, Francine Principe began her eleven-and-a-half years of service as the Redevelopment Coordinator with the City of Campbell's Redevelopment Agency on January 8, 2001 and served the community through June 29, 2012; and WHEREAS, Francine Principe was specifically hired so the City could benefit from her expertise in retail leasing and recruitment to help create a desirable tenant mix in its Historic Downtown and also assisted in leasing the office space at the Campbell Community Center; and WHEREAS, Francine Principe worked collaboratively with business leaders, most specifically Downtown business owners and the DCBA (Downtown Campbell Business Association), concentrating her efforts on the recruitment of a desirable mix of retail and restaurant businesses including Aqui and the Sonoma Chicken Coop that has helped develop the Downtown into the vibrant jewel of the South Bay drawing not only its own residents but visitors from surrounding communities; and WHEREAS, through the years Francine Principe kept a vigilant eye and strived to retain the high-standards of the Downtown core to preserve and nourish its aesthetic appearance including sign and sidewalk use management; and WHEREAS, Francine Principe oversaw special Downtown events including Boogie on the Bayou, Oktoberfest, Carol of Lights, and the Bunnies & Bonnets Parade; she also undertook special projects including writing a new Ordinance for modular news racks in the Downtown; and she worked with an artist on the design of a unique metal sculpture that was crafted and installed in Ainsley Park located at the entrance to the Downtown. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby express its appreciation to Francine Principe for eleven-and-a-half years of dedication to making Campbell a better place to live and work and offers its best wishes for a fulfilling and enjoyable retirement.
