A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
FOR APPROVAL OF SPECIFICATIONS AND CALL
FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE NEW 2013 CHEVROLET CAPRICE
MARKED POLICE VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the adopted Fiscal Year 2012/13, Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance
Motor Pool Budget has appropriated funds for the replacement of units, 1328, 1334, and
1340; and
WHEREAS, these units will have reached the end of their useful life by the time the new
vehicles are procured and put into service; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting the purchase of three new patrol vehicles not to exceed
$109,000, and
WHEREAS, the Chevrolet Caprice has been identified as a suitable replacement for
these units; and
WHEREAS, the estimated fair market value for each unit is greater than $25,000;
therefore, Council authorization to purchase the vehicles is required; and
WHEREAS, units 1328, 1334 and 1340, will be removed from service and sent to First
Capital Auction, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approve specifications
and call for bids for the purchase of three new 2013 Chevrolet Caprice marked police
vehicles,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Interim Public
Works Superintendent to award the contract for procurement of these vehicles.
