CC Resolution 11453RESOLUTION NO. li~ss A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (VTA) FOR THE VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEE (VRF) PROGRAM WHEREAS, on June 3, 2010, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Board of Directors adopted a resolution to place a ballot measure before the voters of Santa Clara County in November 2010 to authorize a $10 increase in the Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF) for transportation-related projects and adopted an expenditure plan (Attachment A) that allocates the revenue to transportation-related programs and projects that have a relationship or benefit to the persons who pay the fee; and WHEREAS, on October 7, 2010, the VTA Board of Directors adopted administrative procedures for the VRF program. These administrative procedures state that VTA will execute program funding agreements with project sponsors (i.e., Member Agencies); and WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, the voters of Santa Clara County enacted the $10 vehicle registration fee on motor vehicles registered within Santa Clara County to pay for programs and projects bearing a relationship or benefit to the owners of motor vehicles paying the fee; and WHEREAS, the Funding Agreement summarizes obligations of VTA and Campbell; and WHEREAS, the City of Campbell will receive approximately $215,000 annually from VRF funds for the Annual Street Maintenance Project by executing the funding agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a funding agreement between the City of Campbell and the VTA for the Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF) Program.
