A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL COMMENDING SERGEANT RICHARD SHIPMAN
ON HIS 31 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman became a Reserve Police Officer in June 1981 and a Police
Officer in April 1983; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman was promoted to Sergeant in July 1996; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman is currently the Traffic Unit Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman has served in many special assignments including Field Training
Officer, Field Training Supervisor, Undercover Narcotics Investigator, Administrative Sergeant,
Investigations Supervisor, Patrol Supenrisor/Watch Commander, Range Master and Crime Scene
Response Team Leader; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman has honorably served as a member of the Crime Scene Response
Team for 26 years and a Team Leader for the majority of that time; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Shipman has always had a commitment to providing excellent service to the
Campbell community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell recognizes
and commends Sergeant Richard Shipman on his retirement from the City of Campbell after 31 years of
service.
