A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL, SERVING AS THE
SUCCESSOR AGENCY FOR THE CAMPBELL REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, APPROVING
THE APPOINTMENT OF MACIAS GINI & O'CONNELL LLP TO PERFORM A DUE
DILIGENCE REVIEW AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Successor Agency is obligated by the legislative requirements under
ABx1 26, the State's Dissolution Act of Redevelopment Agencies and AB1484, a budget trailer
bill affecting the unwind process and modifying the Dissolution Act; and,
WHEREAS, under AB1484, a due diligence review is required to be completed by a
licensed CPA firm with experience and expertise in local government accounting and also
approved by the County Auditor-Controller; and,
WHEREAS, there was an insufficient amount of time to conduct a request for proposals
to solicit for qualified firms and being that there are a limited amount of qualified firms available
to meet the deadlines specified under AB1484; and,
WHEREAS, the dispensation of formal bidding procedures is allowed by CMC section
3.20.030 (4) where specialized services are being procured by a specially trained and
experienced person, and,
WHEREAS, the accounting firm of Macias Gini & O'Connell LLP meets the criteria for
performing this review and has been approved by the County Auditor-Controller and is able to
meet the deadline completion under AB1484;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Campbell City Council, serving as the
Successor Agency, hereby appoints Macias Gini & O'Connell LLP to perform a due diligence
review according to the requirements of AB1484 and authorizes the Finance Director to enter
into an agreement with said firm for professional services in an amount not to exceed $50,000.
