Authorizing the Purchase of Two Replacement Police Patrol Vehicles
WHEREAS, the City has incurred an accident loss and full reimbursement is anticipated
from the City's insurance carrier; and
WHEREAS, the anticipated insurance recovery for the totaled patrol sedans is
approximately, $83,000, reflecting the actual cost of the two outfitted new units; and
WHEREAS, On July 17, 2012, City Council approved the specifications and call for bids
for the purchase of three new 2013 Chevrolet Caprice marked police vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Staff completed a formal bid and Stevens Creek C LLC, Courtesy
Chevrolet was the lowest responsible bidder at $34,500 per unit. The cost to outfit
these units is anticipated to be an additional $7,000 per unit; and
WHEREAS, Staff is requesting that Council approve the replacement of the two totaled
patrol sedans by utilizing the lowest bid received by Stevens Creek C LLC, Courtesy
Chevrolet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves the purchase of the two replacement police patrol sedans.
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Interim Public Works
Superintendent to award the contract for this new equipment to the lowest responsible
bidder, Stevens Creek Chevrolet C LLC, Courtesy Chevrolet.
