A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING THE FINAL CONCEPTUAL DESIGN, ADOPTING A STREET DESIGN
STANDARD, AND AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF DEDICATION
DOCUMENTS AND NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT OBLIGATIONS FOR THE
HACIENDA AVENUE GREEN STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 08-04
WHEREAS, August 7, 2012 City Council Study Session, staff presented the preliminary
conceptual design for the Hacienda Avenue Green Street Project and discussed the
two main goals of the project, which were to address existing concerns and to
incorporate "Green Street" elements; and
WHEREAS, staff has had meetings with 3 different groups of property owners along
Hacienda Avenue where staff presented the proposed concept and collected any
questions, comments, or concerns from the property owners; and
WHEREAS, based on the input from these meetings, staff has since revised the design
to include on-street parking in all locations where feasible; and
WHEREAS, currently 16 properties do not have sufficient existing public right of way to
install all of the proposed green street public improvements and the Hacienda Avenue
Green Street Improvement Project has been modified to include construction of interim
improvements at those locations; and
WHEREAS, these properties may wish to dedicate additional public right of way and
have the City install the public green street improvements with the Hacienda Avenue
Green Street Improvement Project (per Municipal Code Section 11.24.070); and
WHEREAS, the final conceptual design and the proposed Hacienda Avenue Green
Street Improvement Project were presented at a final property owner meeting on
November 1ST and additional public outreach was accomplished through a direct mailing
to over 700 residents surrounding Hacienda Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves the final
conceptual design for Hacienda Avenue between STAR/Burrows Road and Winchester
Boulevard and the final conceptual design for the Hacienda Avenue Greet Street
Improvement Project 08-04 and directs staff to prepare the final plans, specifications
and cost estimate for the project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council adopts the
Hacienda Avenue Green Street Public Street Improvement Standard as the standard
cross section for future public street improvements to be required of future development
along Hacienda Avenue between STAR/Burrows Road and Winchester Boulevard; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the
City Engineer to prepare the necessary documents for the dedication of public right of
way and to prepare the necessary Notice of Improvement Obligations for those property
owners who wish to dedicate public right of way for the installation of street
improvements with the Hacienda Avenue Green Street Project.
