A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING DONALD JUROVICH FOR OVER THIRTY-FOUR YEARS OF SERVICE WITH
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL UPON HIS RETIREMENT
(Resolution/Roll Call Vote)
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich was hired by the City of Campbell on January 9, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Don's entire career has been in the City of Campbell's Public Works
Maintenance Division. During his thirty-four years of service, Don Jurovich has risen through
the ranks of the Street Maintenance Section serving as a Maintenance Worker I from 1978 to
1989, as a Maintenance Worker II from 1989 to 1996 and as a Street Maintenance Lead Worker
from 1996 to 2007 wherein he was promoted to the Street Field Maintenance Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich was responsible for the maintenance of the City's streets and
instrumental in the repair of displaced sidewalks, as well as the installation and maintenance of
public right-of-way signing and striping; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich administered the annual street sweeping, centerline and
thermoplastic striping contracts; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich was the City's liaison to the West Valley Sanitation District
program to inspect and maintain the City's storm drain system resulting in the system operating
efficiently and at a high level; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich worked cooperatively with other divisions and departments to
ensure the success of major projects and special events; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich has managed the response of numerous spills and has
provided a quick response in the containment of these spills which prevented anything from
entering the storm drains; therefore, protecting the creeks and waterways; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich has assisted in many storm related calls which required
clearing clogged storm drains, setting up temporary stops during power outages, setting up
barricades, removing downed limbs and could be counted onto respond to any type of request
required in a storm situation; and
WHEREAS, Don Jurovich has been commended on numerous occasions for his high
level of customer service, both internal and external, resourcefulness and dependability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby express its appreciation to Donald Jurovich for over thirty-four years of loyal and
valuable service and best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
