A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF DEDICATION OF THE CAMPBELL VETERANS
MEMORIAL PHASE I IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2007, the Campbell City Council endorsed the concept of a new
Campbell Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, on August 7, 2007, the Campbell City Council approved the proposed
Orchard City Green location for the new Campbell Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, on November 5, 2008, the proposed conceptual design for the Campbell
Veterans Memorial was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission; and
WHEREAS, on November 13, 2008, the proposed conceptual design for the Campbell
Veterans Memorial was presented to the Civic Improvement Commission; and
WHEREAS, on December 8, 2008, the Campbell City Council approved the conceptual
design for the Campbell Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, on September 20, 2011, the Campbell City Council took several actions
regarding the Campbell Veterans Memorial including the approval of the phasing of the
design and construction of the Campbell Veterans Memorial, approval of the design of
the Phase 1 Campbell Veterans Memorial, authorizing the City Engineer to issue a no
fee encroachment permit for the construction of the Campbell Veterans Memorial, and
authorizing the Public Works Superintendent to execute a maintenance agreement with
the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation for the long term maintenance of the
Campbell Veterans Memorial Phase I; and
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2012, proposed modifications to the original Phase I design
were communicated to Council; and
WHEREAS, Encroachment Permit No. ENC 2012-00041 was issued for the
construction of the Campbell Veterans Memorial Phase 1 Improvements; and
WHEREAS, construction has been completed for the Campbell Veterans Memorial
Phase I; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation has entered into a
maintenance agreement with the City assuming responsibility for maintenance of the
Campbell Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation has offered in writing to
dedicate all of the Campbell Veterans Memorial Phase I Improvements to the City for
the City's sole and unconditional ownership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby accepts the offer of dedication of the Campbell Veterans Memorial Phase I
Improvements.
