BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING
YELLOW CHECKER CAB COMPANY, 2012 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Yellow Checker Cab Company has been selected by the Campbell
Chamber of Commerce as 2012 Business of the Year in recognition of many years of
service to the Campbell community, and will be honored at the annual "Celebrate
Campbell" banquet on March 23, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Yellow Checker Cab has been in operation in Santa Clara County since
1938, has over 450 affiliated professional drivers and inspected vehicles, and a 24 hour
call center that connects taxicabs with all types of individuals; and
WHEREAS, Yellow Checker Cab is a leader in both the Taxicab Paratransit Association
of California (TPAC) and Taxicab Limousine Paratransit Association (TLPA), a
national/international industry association; and
WHEREAS, Yellow Checker Cab is well known for being a leader in the technology
evolution, and has developed a transportation app and "Text Cab" that is available to
the citizens of Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, Yellow Checker Cab has unselfishly and consistently donated its time and
resources to benefit the Chamber of Commerce and the Campbell community as a
whole.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
congratulate Yellow Checker Cab Company on being named Campbell's 2012 Business
of the Year and recognize their valued service to the Campbell community and
continued involvement in civic endeavors.
