BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF THE DESIGNATION OF PROPERTY AT 90 S.
FIRST STREET AS AN HISTORIC LANDMARK. FILE NO.
HL 94-01.
After notification and public hearing as spedfied by law on the City-initiated
application to designate the property known as the Campbell Water Tower
and Pump House, located at 90 S. First Street, as an Historic Landmark and
after testimony by proponents and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commission
did find as follows: '
1. The Campbell Water Company was established in 1895.
2. The site is currently designated as an historical point of interest.
The elevated water tower identifies the City of Campbell and is one of
the last few original landmarks of this area.
The Campbell Water Company provided water service to the City of
Campbell until the 1980s, contributing to the City's economic, social and
cultural heritage.
The Campbell Water Company's owner, Homer Hyde, is a prominent
individual in Campbell's history.
The property will be converted into a public park use and will continue
to serve as a public facility thus honoring the Hyde family.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of September, 1994, by the following
roll call vote:

Meyer-Kennedy, Perrine
