BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING OFFICIAL TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH WEST COAST CODE
CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR BUILDING PERMIT PLAN REVIEW
SERVICES FOR THE BAY WEST APARTMENT AND MIXED-USE
PROJECT AT 1677 S. BASCOM AVENUE AND RELATED BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council previously took action to allow Bay West to construct a
new mixed-use development on property located at 1677 S. Bascom Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Building Inspection Division has evaluated its ability to perform "in
house" plan check services for this large project and has determined it is unable to
reasonably perform said services with current staffing levels in a sufficiently timely
manner; and
WHEREAS, the City Building Inspection Division has received building permit
application and plans from Bay West for this project including sufficient fees to cover the
cost of providing plan review and permit issuance; and
WHEREAS, West Coast Code Consultants, Inc., has submitted the lowest of three
requested bids to provide this review and has demonstrated in the past that they have
the required expertise to perform the necessary Building Code Plan Check of this
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Building Official to execute an Agreement with West Coast Code
Consulting, Inc., for Building Code Plan Check services in an amount not to exceed
$35,000 as well as the related budget adjustment.
