A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORTZING THE DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
TO SUBMIT A COMMUNITY BENEFIT GRANT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$50,000 TO KAISER PERMANENTE FOR OBESITY-PREVENTION RELATED
ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente South Bay has made available funding to support community
programs in the priority areas of obesity prevention, violence and substance abuse and access to
health insurance coverage and health care services; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell City Council adopted a resolution in support of the National Let's
Move Cities and Towns Initiative in 2010 that seeks to promote healthy living and increased
physical activity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Recreation and Community Services Department has a
proven track record in developing quality programming to address obesity prevention; and
WHEREAS, a grant from Kaiser Permanente South Bay's Community Benefit program would
enable the City of Campbell to better serve its low income residents;
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL that the Recreation and Community Services Director is hereby authorized to
submit a grant application in an amount not to exceed $50,000 to the Kaiser Permanente South
Grant Community Benefit Grant Program.
