CC Resolution 11543RESOLUTION NO. us4s A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER FOR THE RADAR SPEED FEEDBACK SIGNS PROJECT 12-HH WHEREAS, in September 2010, staff submitted a grant application for $198,000 in federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant funds for the Radar Speed Feedback Signs Project; and WHEREAS, the total cost to design and construct the project was $220,000; and WHEREAS, the City purchased the radar signs using the City of San Jose's competitive bid process; and WHEREAS, On November 7, 2012, the City received three bids for the installation of the Radar Speed Feedback Signs Project; and WHEREAS, On January 11, 2013 Caltrans approved the purchase and installation of ten (10) additional signs with the added signs remaining within the grant allocated amount; and WHEREAS, the cost of the ten (10) additional signs that the City will purchase directly is $38,507.36; and WHEREAS, the change order for the installation portion of the ten (10) additional signs to Steiny and Company (Contractor) is for the amount of $15,100.36. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell approves the purchase of ten (10) additional signs in the amount of $38,507.36 and authorizes the City Engineer to execute a change order for the installation portion of the ten (10) signs to Steiny and Company (Contractor) in the amount of $15,100.36.
