CC Resolution 11566RESOLUTION NO. 11566 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT A HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE HARRIET AVENUE/MCCOY AVENUE/SAN TOMAS AQUINO ROAD SIGNALIZATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Safety Improvement (HSIP) grant program is a federal-funded program administered by Caltrans to encourage construction of cost- effective highway safety improvement projects; and WHEREAS, the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road Signalization Project is estimated to cost $537,000 to design and construct; and WHEREAS, the HSIP grant program requires a minimum ten-percent local match for the City of Campbell; and WHEREAS, a total of $53,700 would be required in Campbell local match funds; and WHEREAS, a potential source for the local match is CIP reserves. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized to submit a Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program grant application for the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road Signalization Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Campbell will provide $53,700 in local match funds should the Highway Safety Improvement Program Grant be awarded to the City of Campbell.
