BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSULTANT
CONTRACT WITH METROPOLITAN PLANNING GROUP (M-GROUP) FOR THE
PREPARATION OF THE HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE 2014-2022
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell will update the Housing Element which will need to be
certified by January 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell desires the services of a qualified consultant to
prepare a comprehensive update of the City's Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, M-Group prepared the 2007-2014 Housing Element and has submitted a
proposal at a cost lower than the last update project cost; and
WHEREAS, the City budgeted $80,000 for the 2014-2022 Housing Element Update and
the selection of M-Group will save the City $30,555; and
WHEREAS, the preparation process will take approximately 12 months to complete;
and
WHEREAS, the City believes that a competitive bidding process can be waived in order
to maintain consistency in the consultant's understanding of the City; and
WHEREAS, the M-Group has proven to be well qualified and has the required local
knowledge, professional expertise, and staffing to prepare the Housing Element.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell
herby authorizes the City Manager to execute a consultant contract with M-Group for
the 2014-2022 Housing Element Update for an amount not to exceed $49,445.
