A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING
SPECIFICATIONS AND CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 2014
CHEVROLET SILVERADO AND AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE ONE NEW 2014
FORD UTILITY POLICE INTERCEPTOR
WHEREAS, the mileage for both of the replacement units has exceeded the City's criterion
for replacement and have reached the end of their useful life; and
WHEREAS, replacement of these enforcement units is funded by the Motor Pool Fund and
appropriated in the Fiscal Year 13/14 operating budget; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City of Campbell's Purchasing Policy, if the equipment's
estimated fair market value is greater than twenty-five thousand dollars Council
authorization is required; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has selected the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and the
2014 Ford Utility Police Interceptor as the preferred vehicles for its operations; and
WHERERAS, Campbell Municipal Code 3.20.070, has provisions which allow for- the
purchase of equipment through other municipal agencies who have utilized bidding
procedures consistent with the City of Campbell's formal contract procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby approve the specifications and call for bids for one new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado
and authorizes the Public Works Director to award the contract for this replacement vehicle;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby
authorize the Public Works Director to purchase one new 2014 Ford Utility Police
Interceptor from Wondries Fleet Group, pursuant to section 3.20.070 of the Campbell
Municipal Code.
