A RESOLUTION jOF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVING A LIMITED TERM INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR
WHEREAS, it is the respohsibilityof the Information Technology Division to manage the use of
technology to provide reliable and cost-effective information to end users and to preserve the
integrity of the City's data and data systems; and,
WHEREAS, the Information Technology Division provides critical support- to every operating
department in the City including 24 hour/7;day per week support to the Police Department;
and,
WHEREAS, the nature and type of systems it is responsible for maintaining has grown in
numbers as well as in complexity over the past decade; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complete a number of technology initiatives that have
already been approved and are deemed to be of high priority for the Council and the
community; and several major technology, projects necessitate additiohal and higher level
resources for completion-,.requiring resources beyond what currently exists; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal code
to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the reorganization of offices,
departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best interest of efficient,
effective and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the currenYClassification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the
requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby approve the position of Limited Term Information Technology Administrator as
outlined in the Council staff report. ,
