CC Resolution 11674RESOLUTION NO. L1674 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE HACIENDA AVENUE. GREEN STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 08-046 AND AUTHORIZING THE READVERTISEMENT OF THE PROJECT AND RELATED ACTIONS WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 11602 approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the call for bids for the Hacienda Avenue Green Street Improvement Project 08-046 on October 1, 2013; and WHEREAS, two bids were received and opened on April 29, 2014; and WHEREAS, O'Grady Paving, Inc. of Mountain View provided_the apparent low bid; and WHEREAS, the specifications for the project included a requirement for a minimum bid amount for a specific bid item for which the apparent low bid did not meet; and WHEREAS, the apparent second low bidder, Ghilotti Construction, Inc. of Santa Rosa provided a letter to the City requesting the apparent low bid from O'Grady Paving, Inc. be determined to be non-responsive due to less than minimum bid amount provided; and WHEREAS, a re-bid of the project would allow staff to make adjustments to the project scope to decrease project costs and would allow for clarification of the minimum bid requirement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that all bids for the construction of the Hacienda Avenue Green Street Improvement Project 08-04B received on April 29, 2014 are hereby rejected and that the City Council of the City of Campbell authorizes the Public Works Director to readvertise and call for formal bids for the construction of the Hacienda Avenue Green Street Improvement Project 08-04B and to award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
