CC Resolution 11732RESOLUTION NO. ii~sz A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS TO PROVIDE TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE HARRIET AVENUE/McCOY AVENUE/SAN TOMAS AQUINO ROAD SIGNALIZATION PROJECT WHEREAS, on July 16, 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 11566 authorizing the Public Works Director to submit a federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant application to Caltrans for the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road Signalization Project; and WHEREAS, in December 2013, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) notified staff that the City of Campbell had been awarded the HSIP grant for this project; and ~ WHEREAS, the total project cost was estimated to be $574;400.00 with the HSIP grant covering a maximum $516,960.00 and the City is responsible for the 10% local match of $57,440.00; and WHEREAS, the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road Signalization Project would involve the design and construction of traffic signals at the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue and Harriet Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road intersections; and WHEREAS, the scope of the construction project includes the installation of traffic signal poles, cabinets, and underground equipment; pavement markings, and signs; installation bf sidewalk, curb and gutter, curb ramps, and asphalt concrete conform work; and WHEREAS, a survey of the existing topography and utility locations is required to design the project; and WHEREAS, the length of the project corridor precludes the use of staff to perform the survey; and WHEREAS, the City's Administrative Policy #03-35 requires the City Council to approve the retaining of a consultant if the cost of services is in excess of $15,000; and WHEREAS, the estimate for consultant services is approximately $17,000; and WHEREAS, staff is requesting authorization to issue a Request for Qualifications, award the contract, and enter into a consultant services agreement with the most qualified respondent. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell , authorizes the issuance of a Request 'for Qualifications for topographic survey consultant services for the Harriet Avenue/McCoy Avenue/San Tomas Aquino Road Signalization Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell authorizes the Public Works Director to award the contract and enter into a~consultant services agreement with the most qualified respondent.
