BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT FEE FOR CALIFORNIA
STREET AND EL CAMINITO AVENUE
WHEREAS, staff has conducted a City survey of residents on California Street and EI
Caminito Avenue from October 17 to October 23, and a majority of respondents have
expressed an interest in starting a pilot residential parking permit program;
WHEREAS, there is past history until 2005 when the City had a residential parking permit
program on McBain Avenue and Memory Lane to address parking-related issues
experienced by residents impacted by commercial activity on Bascom Avenue;
WHEREAS, a separate Council agenda item is on the November 3, 2014 calendar to
establish a pilot parking permit program for California Street and EI Caminito Avenue;
WHEREAS, a survey of similar parking permit programs in adjacent counties revealed
that parking permit fees ranged from zero to $40 with $25 being the average fee; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of an annual parking permit fee of $30 for California Street
and EI Caminito Avenue is reasonable relative to the fees charged by similar parking
permit programs and would help offset City costs for manufacturing and installation of
signage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby establish a parking permit fee of $30 for residents desiring a parking permit
on California Street and EI Caminito Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the establishment of the annual $30 parking permit fee
includes two Guest parking permits to accommodate occasional overnight parking by
visitors and guests.
