A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL, STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH NEXT GENERATION CONSULTING
AND REBECCA RYAN FOR A
WORKSHOP ON FORECASTING FOR THE FUTURE
WHEREAS, the update of the City's General Plan is a priority; and
WHEREAS, the General Plan has not been updated since 2001; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Ryan with Next Generation Consulting and as the resident
"Futurist" for the Alliance for Innovation is available to conduct a workshop with
Campbell's City Council; and one representative from each City advisory
commission, including the newly forming Youth Commission; staff representatives;
stakeholder representatives, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown
Campbell Business Association, schools, neighborhood leaders, parents, service
organizations, property owners, and other community members; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Ryan would present a summary of the findings with the City
Council at their July 21 S` meeting; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment in the amount of $12,112 is required to
appropriate funds from Beginning Fund Balance to allow for this workshop to take
place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes
the City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with Next Generation
Consulting and Rebecca Ryan for a workshop on "Forecasting. the Future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the appropriation
of funds authorizing the City Manager to approve a budget adjustment in the amount
of $12,112.
