CC Resolution 11819RESOLUTION NO. 11819 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AND THE SILICON VALLEY REGIONAL INTEROPERABILITY AUTHORITY WHEREAS, in 2010, the Cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, San Jose, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale; the Town of Los Gatos and the County of Santa Clara entered into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) to form the Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority (SVRIA); and WHEREAS, the goals of the SVRIA are to design and implement a regional, interoperable communications network, to purchase radio and data communications systems, to participate in regional interoperability systems, to jointly fund activities and systems related to interoperability and to jointly apply for grants and funding to accomplish these goals.; and WHEREAS, participating agencies would like to execute a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a means of requiring SVRIA members and participants to commit to the payments necessary to ensure financing of the system; and WHEREAS, SVRIA members and participants will pay a portion of the system based on the number of radios committed for use on the system in addition to the cost of annual operation of the system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby authorize the City Manager to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Campbell and the Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority.
