A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING SHIRLEY BLACKER FOR SEVENTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Shirley Blacker was hired by the City of Campbell on December 1, 1986,
on a contractual basis as the Nutrition Site Manager and appointed as a permanent
part-time employee on February 23, 1998; and
WHEREAS, Shirley Blacker worked with various community agency partners including
the Santa Clara County Senior Nutrition Program, Outreach, and Second Harvest Food
Bank, to provide seniors with access to food, transportation, and other support services;
and
WHEREAS, Shirley Blacker assisted in the implementation of introducing Asian meals
in 2014 which has significantly increased program attendance and enhanced the variety
food offered by the Senior Nutrition Program; and
WHEREAS, Shirley Blacker has made an enormous impact to the Campbell Senior
Community in promoting proper nutrition and social contact; and
WHEREAS, Shirley Blacker has exhibited care and compassion iri serving seniors and
caregivers by providing a warm and welcoming environment
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby express its appreciation to Shirley Blacker for seventeen years of loyal and
dedicated service and offers it best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
